Chevrolet has been blessed with many award-winning designs, including the Chevrolet Prizm of 2001. There are two trim levels to the Prizm, including Base and LSi. The LSi version is one of the more popular options. Like in 2000 the popular 1.8 liter has made this a popular choice for sedan buyers across the country.

Chevrolet Prizm Engine Specs

Chevrolet Prizm Engine Specs: The Prizm LSi comes outfitted with a 1.8 liter, 4-cylinder motor that uses 16 valves. The engine, manufactured by Toyota, is teamed up with a Borg Warner 5-speed transaxle. This arrangement has demonstrated to be an effective style for Chevrolet.

The Prizm uses power-assisted brakes, with Non-ABS support. The front brakes are disc while the rear brakes are drum. Steering is handled through a power-steering rack-style configuration. The car uses coil and coil springs front and rear respectively.

The Prizm is 174.20 inches long, 66.70 inches wide, and 53.70 inches high. It has a wheelbase of 97.10 inches. It is able to seat 5 comfortably.

The listed retail price in 2001 (MSRP) was $14,155, with an invoice cost of $13,476. This price is above average of the industry average price for a four-door Sedan.

Fuel Efficiency

The fuel system for the 2001 Prizm is a traditional MPI, running on gasoline fuel. The fuel is controlled by an electronic system and is a fuel-injected MFI design. The capacity of the fuel tank is 13.20 gallons.

The Prizm LSi received a miles-per-gallon rating of 28 - 31 in-city driving and 32 - 38 when it came to long-distance. Being a gas-powered non-green car, this was exceptional.
