The Chevrolet Malibu is a 4-door car available at your Chevrolet dealer. The Malibu came in five configurations: Base, LS, LT, Maxx LS, and Maxx LT. The LS configuration is powered by the 3.5-liter six-cylinder engine, which makes 34 highway miles and 24 city. The Malibu competes in the Sedan market segment, in direct competition with Honda.

The restyled Malibu LS is equipped with a 3.5-liter six-cylinder engine that utilizes 12 valves. The N/A engine is mated to a General Motors four-speed transaxle. This has resulted in an increase in horsepower and torque over the 2004 version.
The fuel system for the 2005 Malibu is a traditional SFI, running on gasoline fuel. The fuel is controlled by an electronic system and is a fuel-injected MFI design. The capacity of the fuel tank is 16.00 gallons.
The Malibu uses power-assisted brakes, with 4-Wheel ABS support. The front brakes are disc while the rear brakes are disc. Steering is handled through a power-steering rack-style configuration. The car uses coil and coil springs front and rear respectively.

The Malibu is 188.30 inches long, 69.90 inches wide, and 57.50 inches high. It has a wheelbase of 106.30 inches. It is able to seat 5 comfortably.
The original manufacturer suggested retail price (MSRP) was $19,200 when new, with a dealer invoice cost of $17,568. This price was in line with the industry average price for a 4-door Sedan.
A powertrain guarantee is provided (36,000 miles/36 months), and a 36,000 mile, 36 month guarantee also comes with the Chevrolet Malibu. This is average compared to the rest of the car market.
Fuel Efficiency
The Malibu LS received a miles-per-gallon rating of twenty four in-city driving and thirty four when it came to highway driving. Being a gas-powered non-hybrid car, this was within normal parameters.
