Insight Into the Dodge Shadow for 1993

In 1993 Dodge released the Shadow High Line to the car-buying market. The Shadow came in three configurations: Base, High Line, and ES. The High Line configuration is powered by the 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine, which makes 29 - 32 highway miles and 23 - 27 city. The Shadow competes in the Convertible market segment, in direct competition with Infiniti.

Performance

Dodge Shadow Engine Specs: The Shadow High Line comes outfitted with a 3.0 liter, 6-cylinder motor that uses 12 valves. The engine, manufactured by Mitsubishi, is teamed up with a Chrysler 5-speed transaxle. This arrangement has demonstrated to be an effective style for Dodge.

The Shadow uses power-assisted brakes, with 4-Wheel ABS support. The front brakes are disc while the rear brakes are disc. Steering is handled through a power-steering rack-style configuration. The car uses coil and coil springs front and rear respectively.

The 1993 Shadow’s normal fuel system runs on gas. The fuel is regulated electronically, with a fuel-injected multi-port fuel injection (MFI) style of design. The fuel tank holds 14.00 gallons.

Shadow High Line Statistics

The Shadow is 171.90 inches long, 67.30 inches wide, and 52.70 inches high. It has a wheelbase of 97.20 inches. It is able to seat 5 comfortably.

The standard warranty period for the Shadow is 60* months, or 50,000* miles, whichever comes first. This is standard in the convertible market.

The listed retail price in 1993 (MSRP) was $8,847, with an invoice cost of an industry-average price. This price is slightly higher than the industry average price for a two-door Convertible.

Fuel Efficiency

The Shadow High Line received a miles-per-gallon rating of 23 - 27 in-city driving and 29 - 32 when it came to long-distance. Being a gas-powered non-green car, this was subpar.

In 1992 and 1993 the Shadow High Line was availble in the exterior colors of several colors.

In Summary

The 1992 model began the promise of the Dodge Shadow. The 1993 expanded on this success and has proven to be a strong seller in most markets. Even with strong competition from other manufacturers Dodge hopes that the Shadow High Line will continue to be a profitable vehicle.
